May Book Discussion
w/ Special Guest Reader
in conjunction with
The Big Read Partnership for Greater New Haven
Wednesday, May 28th at 6:30PM

The Derby Public library is proud to be a part of the Big Read Partnership for Greater New Haven 2008 which is a piece of the International Festival of Arts & Ideas. On Wednesday, May 28th at 6:30PM, the Library's May book discussion will focus on this year's chosen title,
Fahrenheit 451
by
Ray Bradbury
This book was chosen based on its broad appeal and powerful exploration of censorship, conformity and the importance of books and reading.
The evening will include special quest reader, Jeff Butler, a local up and coming actor and singer. Jeff, a frequent visitor to the library, recently moved to Derby from Washington State. He has been in such movies as End Game, Home of the Brave, Ghost Town, and most recently, Duplicity, starring Clive Owen and Julia Roberts. As an actor, he has won top awards at the World Championship of performing Arts in Hollywood in both acting and singing categories.
Anyone who registers for this event will receive a free copy of the book to keep. Spanish language copies are also available. Both young adults and adults are invited.
Refreshments will be available. For more information or to register, stop by the Library.
