Genealogy

The Derby Public Library has many resources for patrons doing genealogical research. In the Local History Room there is a collection of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) books for those who can trace their ancestry back to those present during the American Revolution. There are also other books that list genealogical information by some of the popular surnames associated with our local area. We also have books for popular surnames found throughout Connecticut, public records of marriages and vital statistics from the late 1700s, and a variety of microfilms from local newspapers dating back to the 1800s. Through the Derby Public Library, patrons also have access to the Family Tree Magazine and iCONN.com, a Connecticut online database with data from Heritage Quest Online.
