"Book Buddies"

Children ages 3-7 and young adults 12-17 years old are invited to be part of the BOOK BUDDIES program at the Derby Public Library. 

The Following Thursdays:

May 8th @ 3:30PM

Join us as the younger adults partner with the younger children share their love of books by reading aloud to them each week.

If you have any questions or would like to register, please call 736-1482 or stop by the Children's Room.

Refreshments will be served

Magic Teen

Brian Lizzete will perform a magic show on Wednesday,

JULY 19th

6:30PM to 7:30PM

Not only will teens be entertained but they will also learn the "how to" of performing magic tricks.

will lead young adults through their acting paces on Tuesday,

Come and have fun as you learn techniques that will increase your confidence when performing in a play or skit.

Julie's Jewelry will hold a class on designing your own jewelry with colorful beads and string.  Be here Tuesday,

August 5th

6:30PM to 7:30PM

and leave with a great piece of handmade jewelry.

Summer Mystery Reading Program

YNK @ Your Library

(AKA - You Never Know at Your Library)

WHO - Any young adult ages 12 to 17 can participate

WHAT - Read 2 or more mysteries this summer to qualify for rewards, prizes and a pizza party.

WHEN - June 23rd - August 12th

WHERE - The Derby Public Library

HOW -

        1) Register at the library by July 1st to be a part of the program

            * Please list the title of your chosen books and authors.

        2) Read 2 or more books and complete a short question and answer      

            sheet for each book.

            * Please hand in completed questions and answer sheets by         Monday,   August 12th.

        3) Join us for a pizza party on Thursday, August 14th from 3:30PM to 5:30PM.

            * Rewards & prizes will be handed out for accomplishing the goal of reading 2 or more books.
